Franks Finds the End Zone at OTA Practice

File Under: Chad Pennington, David Harris, James Ihedigbo, Kellen Clemens, Kerry Rhodes, Brett Ratliff, Terrell Owens, Bubba Franks

Bubba Franks made his presence felt at today's OTA practice.

Every time you looked up, Franks, the 6'6", 265-pound tight end who came over from the Packers as a street free agent in March, was snagging a pass for six.

There were some nice snatches at helmet level or above from Chad Pennington in red zone drills. There was No. 88 reaching for a "touchdown" in the corner of the end zone on a zip… More

Special Attention at the Rookie Minicamp

File Under: Eric Mangini, David Harris, James Dearth, Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos, Bob Sutton, Bryan Cox, Vernon Gholston, Kevin O'Dea, Dustin Keller, Danny Woodhead

The air was a little brisk, in the upper 50s perhaps, for this morning's third practice of the Jets' weekend rookie minicamp, leading to this exchange between defensive coaches:

Then this afternoon general manager Mike Tannenbaum had his own bathroom story about the Jets' extremely successful second-r… More

The Schedule, Drawn and Quartered

File Under: David Harris, ", Big Tuna, Marcus Stroud, Kawika Mitchell

They play the games in the fall but that doesn’t make schedule day any less exciting. Even though we already knew whom the Jets would face in 2008, we didn’t know when and we wondered for months. Well, thankfully we ain’t wondering anymore!

When we internally received the official email early this afternoon, I decided to break the season up into quarters to view what was on the horizon.

Green & White Show Their Belief in Kerry

File Under: David Harris, Kerry Rhodes, Kris Jenkins, contract extension

The NFL's slogan for 2008 is "Believe In Now." The Jets, in their approach to this year's free agency and trading period, appear to have bought into that. But they also have expressed faith in the future with the signing of safety Kerry Rhodes to a contract extension.

The deal, finalized and announced by the team this afternoon, will keep Rhodes in green and white for years to come. And with the … More
