04/02 — This just in: The Denver Broncos have traded quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears. With reports out of Denver as recently as this afternoon listing the Redskins, Buccaneers and Jets as the top candidates to pull the trade on such a deal, da Bears jumped to the head of the class reportedly by offering the Broncos two first-round picks and Kyle Orton, last year's starter behind center. Also, the teams exchanged mid-round picks to balance the deal.

So for now those rumors can be put to rest that the Jets, less than a year after trading with the Packers for one season from Brett Favre, are maneuvering to add Cutler to their stable.

But the Jets players, asked about the Cutler rumors during today's media availability, expressed confidence in the three guys they have, and the QBs were appreciative.

"I appreciate their confidence in us," Brett Ratliff said. "Kellen and I have worked really hard to be better. That's what I'm doing right now, trying to gain the trust of the days, do that in any way that I can. I'll be working my butt off no matter what to get better and improve my craft."
