File Under: Mike Tannenbaum, news conference, Rex Ryan, Bart Scott

03/02 — Whether or not Bart Scott had his introductory news conference as a Jet came down to weather or not. And at the moment it looks like weather — a lot.

(Sorry. Cabin fever already.)

The snow fell on North Jersey and the metropolitan area overnight and is continuing today, forcing the cancellation of Scott's scheduled noon news conference at the Atlantic Health Training Center.

However, Scott, the Jets' newly signed unrestricted free agent inside linebacker, is in the vicinity and he will have a conference call with Jets reporters this afternoon. Tuesday he could do some standup interviews with local TV outlets here at the AHTC.

SportsNet New York, one of those outlets, had planned to carry the Scott news conference. And considering that Steve Overmyer and crew conducted a long day's vigil into night Friday to get Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan after the Scott signing was finally completed, SNY will be carrying reports and interviews on any developments, which will go on whatever the weather.

Nothing else to report at the moment, but I'll post anything on Scott, Lito Sheppard or any other player that I can throughout the day.

Bart's "Wheel" of Fortune

This just in: Scott will make his first New York television appearance this evening when he pays a visit to SNY's "Wheelhouse" program that begins at 5:30 p.m.

"No more SMALL WIDE RECEIVERS for the JETS! We need a (TALL) 6'4 or TALLER Wide Receiver with LONG ARMS and SPEED, to really open up the JETS offense."

"Yes, Jared Cook, a tight end who is 6'5" and 250 and runs a 4.5 40 with a vertical leap of 40 in and a fast quarterback like Vince Young would be nice"
