File Under: Meadowlands, Kenyon Coleman, Fan Appreciation Day, Damien Woody, Bubba Franks, Green Out

12/13 — A victory over the Bills on Sunday would add to the excitement of this week’s Fan Appreciation Day — when fans are being asked to wear green for the first ever "Green Out" and will have the chance to win great prizes. One person will even have chance to kick a field goal at halftime for $150,000.

“It’ll be nice to see a green wave out there on Sunday,” said TE Bubba Franks, who started his career as a Packer. “Green Bay is different. The Packers are really all they have. Here there are so many different professional teams that it’s kind of hard to stay with one team – you’ve got to concentrate.”

“I heard about all that stuff,” Jets offensive lineman Damien Woody said of this Sunday’s festivities. “It’s a great deal. The organization is really involving the fans and really having the fans doing certain things for this weekend’s game – it’s all good. And hopefully they’ll be in full force for the game — big game on Sunday — and just keep doing what they’ve been doing, which is just showing us much love out there on the field.”

Jets fans have been behind the team all season and Woody is pretty sure he knows just what they want in return.

“They just want a winner,” he said. “They want something that they can be proud of and as a player that’s something that I definitely want to be able to say that I gave to the fans out there – a champion. So that’s what everybody in this locker room is striving for and hopefully we can provide them that.

“Before I got here, just from being on the other side playing in New England, it was always a rough crowd coming in here to the Meadowlands. They make it pretty tough on the opposing team. But now that I’m here, just being around town, I just feel nothing but love from the Jets fan.

“They’re out there through sunshine, rain, whatever type of weather conditions. They’re out there just cheering us on.”

While the Meadowlands has yet to see snow this season, plenty of fans stuck with the team while rain poured on them against Denver two weeks ago. Kenyon Coleman, who started his career in Dallas, shared a similar sentiment.

“Jets fans and Cowboys fans both love their teams,” he said. “We have great fans here who support us all the time. They come out in rain, snow or shine.”

“They really have an appreciation for what we do and really enjoy just being behind the team,” said Woody. “My biggest satisfaction is giving them something where they can kind of brag to other people about their team and the product that they’re going to the game watching. That gives me great gratification.

“It definitely gets crazy out there. Like I said, all our fans want is a winner and a brand of football that they can be proud of. We’ve been doing a pretty good job of that this season. Hopefully we can finish this thing off and try to get in that tournament at the end of the year.”

"For the most part I think Mangini is doing a good job. I don't see much emotion from him, but we don't know a lot of what goes on w/ the team. I think Westhoff is the best Special Teams coach in the league. Callahan seems to have gotten the O Line on track and certainly the running game. I firmly believe this team will go nowhere with Sutton as D Coordinator and I'd love to see Cowher replace him!"

"Well again all the prognosticators are predicting the jets will collapse .. & again I have to listen to it .. Then to make it even more excruciating the fish & Pats will handle there business... & we will founder in mediacraty hoping to win out .. Can't even describe how disappointed I am right now cause in my heart I know we can't get it done..Next excuse coming up monday"
