12/10 — Hey, Jets fans, it's Michelle from the Flight Crew! In honor of Fan Appreciation Week, I’d like to focus my blog on just how much the Flight Crew appreciates our Jets fans.
As a newcomer to New York and a rookie on the Flight Crew, this season has been my first as a Jets fan. This is my first experience of NY Jets football, the Meadowlands, gamedays, promotional appearances, the fans — and what an experience it has been! Jets fans are involved in all aspects of the organization.
I thought it was great that the fans helped pick one of our Flight Crew members this season. (Great pick, by the way. Liana is awesome!) From day one I have been impressed with the intensity and devotion of Jets fans. At each game, when the Flight Crew comes out of the tunnel to the sound of 80,000 screaming fans, it gives me a rush like nothing else I’ve ever felt before. The fans are so pumped for each game, no matter who we're playing. Jets fans see each game as an opportunity for victory and have the enthusiasm to make each one of us feel how badly they want the Jets to win.
Nothing is more exhilarating than when we line up in the end zones to do our quarter break dances, and as we are getting ready to dance we hear the chant “Let’s go Flight Crew.” It gets our adrenaline going like you would not believe! Here we are as cheerleaders cheering on our team and entertaining Jets fans, and in turn the fans are cheering us on! That kind of support from our fans helps us to do our best at every game.
For third downs we do a synchronized jumping sequence. As we are jumping away, we look up in the stands and see fans doing our moves along with us. It makes us so happy that we can’t help but smile and cheer that much louder.
The fans have helped us get through some extreme weather conditions as well. I remember our home opener Sept. 14 felt like it was about 100 degrees. The sun was blazing and we were dancing and constantly moving for hours.
Then there was our last home game Nov. 30, where it was raining the entire game! At one point, I could barely feel my fingers and my clothes were soaked through. I looked up into the stands, and the fans are right there screaming as if they weren’t freezing and didn’t even know it was raining. It really hit me and made me realize just how devoted Jets fans are. It could be 2 degrees or 100 degrees outside and it doesn’t make a difference. Jets fans are there for their team no matter what!
Aside from gamedays, I have had the opportunity to interact with Jets fans at charity and promotional events. Jets fans have always given us support, honest feedback and encouragement to keep up the good work. We even had a squad of junior cheerleaders from Madison, N.J., perform a cheer for us! They worked hard to make up that cheer, and we appreciated every second of it. Thanks girls!
As a member of the Flight Crew, it is my responsibility to cheer for our team and to entertain our fans. I am honored to have been chosen to become a member of the NY Jets organization, and I work my hardest to represent the Jets with pride. I speak on behalf of the Flight Crew when I say thank you to all of the Jets fans for your continuous support and enthusiasm. You keep us going, you excite us, and you make this job the best in the entire world!
In honor of your enthusiasm throughout the year, we are planning a “Green Out” game for this Sunday, Dec. 14. This means that for all you Jets fans, it’s time to wear green from head to toe to the game to support your New York Jets!
Happy Holidays and GO JETS!!

I think we might want the girls to ditch the 3rd down synchronized jumping and help cover someone on defense maybe helping us get off the field....I would expect an invitaion to Franks's Texas ranch will be coming but I would like to wish you happy Holidays"

Wed, December 10, 2008 - 4:29pm ET"we need to get out that 3-4 defense we can't stop nobody a 4-3 5-2 nickel read or dime cover defense wins games and law needs to blizz more if we dont get out that 3-4 were going home soon !!!!!"
Row Said:
Wed, December 10, 2008 - 6:07pm ET"The 3-4 is solid, we just have not been able to hit gaps or cover a RB. The five yard rule really hits us hard. A 5-2 would be stupid, you just cannot cover the RB and the TE's with 5 down lineman, not to mention a slot WR. Nickel hasn't worked because we have been game planning vs certain guys and not sticking to a true zone. I personally want to see a solid cover 2 with LB's hitting their gaps. "
Dunnie Said:
Wed, December 10, 2008 - 6:31pm ET"I agree with Row ... I would love a solid cover two with attacking LBs."
Jeremy Said:
Wed, December 10, 2008 - 9:22pm ET"3-4 is fine if the LB's can read what 2 are taking Jenkins and hit the gaps. The problem has been covering the RB's & TE's. Short crossing routes and screens have and always kill this team when you have a DE trying to cover them. JETS need to zone blitz and bring atleast 4-5 every play. Revis shuts down the #1 WR everygame, the other DB's need to step up! If we don't get QB pressure we lose period"
Drew Said:
Wed, December 10, 2008 - 10:09pm ET"Wow...Just read about Matt Casell's father passing. What a tough deal for this kid. I guess losing a couple of games isnt that big of a deal? My prayers go out to his family. "

Ray Said:
Thu, December 11, 2008 - 3:47am ET"The 3-4 is only as good as the personnel and we don't have it. It is vastly improved over last year only because of Jenkins. We still don't have the DE's that truly fit this defense. Thus, no pressure unless we blitz and as we have shown we can't cover anyone. We are better off in a different scheme with this group."

Thu, December 11, 2008 - 11:38am ET"Ray, we now have the guys to run the 3-4 & Ellis leads the league at his position with 8 sacks so it is not that we do not have the guys to play the 3-4 DE the problem is that every 3-4 team rushes the OLB'S & keeps other teams guessing all day where the blitz is coming from like Pitt for example for some reason we do not do that we rush 3 guys with 5 O linemen blocking them SO 2 of our 3 get "
Tom Spicer Said:
Thu, December 11, 2008 - 11:40am ET"get doubled & we get no pass rush & we get picked apart if Sutton does not get aggresive & like NOW we will not win "
Ray Said:
Thu, December 11, 2008 - 12:48pm ET"Spicer, while I like Ellis, he is not an ideal 3-4 DE. We had him last year too and he struggled mightily. Jenkins makes this D line look 1000 times better. But I agree we seem to be playing read and react and we definitely aren't cut out for that! I still prefer the 4-3 but either way, as long as it is aggressive I can live with getting beat. We need that "nothing to lose" mentality."
Nel Said:
