File Under: Eric Mangini, Brett Favre, Kris Jenkins, Arizona Cardinals, Kevin Spencer, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald

09/24 — The two major injury stories this week are, of course, QB Brett Favre's ankle and NT Kris Jenkins' back. Eric Allen will have a story later this afternoon combining Favre's weekly news conference and Jenkins' locker room comments, but head coach Eric Mangini was asked about both players at his morning news conference and he said he expects both to be available for Arizona on Sunday.

On Favre, Mangini said, referring to Tuesday's conference call with reporters, "is pretty much what I said yesterday. We'll have to see, take that as the week goes on, get him the treatment he needs to get, not push him too far one way or the other, make sure he's as prepared as he needs to be."

On Jenkins: "It's the same thing as Brett. He's getting treatment. We'll put him through the work we can get him as far as reps in the program. We'll have a program for each of those guys, make sure they don't reaggravate their injuries.

"Yeah, I anticipate both those guys playing."

On the housekeeping front, Mangini announced the signing of WRs Marcus Henry and Paul Raymond to the practice squad and repeated Tuesday's late announcement that P Waylon Prather and TE Brad Listorti had been released from the P-squad.

While much of the talk this week will be about Cardinals wideouts Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald and how the Jets will try to slow them and QB Kurt Warner down, Mangini offered an interesting sidebar that many didn't know about: He'll be "going up against" his former college head coach in this game.

"Kevin Spencer is their special teams coach and he was actually my college coach at Wesleyan," said Mangini, who played under Spencer in 1989-90. "He helped get me into the NFL. I have a lot of personal feelings for him. I've always respected him back in the day when I was playing for him. You see how sound and how consistent the Cardinals' teams are as a group."

More stuff today. We visited with punter Ben Graham, who talked about the week that was, and I'll have another Radar entry with some notes from San Diego before they get too old.
