09/01 — GM Mike Tannenbaum and head coach Eric Mangini have announced the Jets' eight-man practice squad today. Here is the list of the eight players, all of whom spent time with the team in training camp, as released by the Jets' public relations department, along with height, weight, college and hometown:
WR Larry Brackins (6'4", 221/Pearl River CC/Dothan, AL)
RB Jehuu Caulcrick (6'0", 254/Michigan State/Findley Lake, NY)
OL Stanley Daniels (6'4", 320/Washington/San Diego, CA)
DB James Ihedigbo (6'1", 202/Massachusetts/Amherst, MA)
OL Matt McChesney (6'4", 307/Colorado/Santa Cruz, CA)
DE Ropati Pitoitua (6'8", 290/Washington State/Spanaway, WA)

I thought Ball showed better hands made a few nice catches on poor throws and caught a TD in traffic I put him next to Raymond as a PS player. I like guys who play well in games and not practice stars who don't transfer that play to the games. I hope Clowney heals quickly."

I don't get it they had him in for talks last year and i thought for sure they would go after him this past March. Now there are reports that they are close to signing Lynch. While Lynch is a good veteran to have around he stil will be 37 yrs old soon. Can't cover like he used to. I would prefer Wilson. Oh yes i am a big Raymond fan."

"Segundo, C Mike Elgin was never on New England's practice squad. He was a last cut by the Patriots on Sept. 1 and cleared waivers. Once that happened, he was eligible to be signed to another team's practice squad. The Jets signed Elgin to their P-squad Sept. 5 and released him Oct. 4."

I suggest they look at Kenton Keith formerly of the Colts who did a good job last year spelling Adai. He had 533 yards on 121 carries and would be a good fit. Enough with the B. Smith nonsense as being the #3 that is both alarming and absurd coming from management."

Would still love to see Lynch on the team as I still think we need help with run D. We won't need to cover anybody if we can't stop the run. However, how do we release Posiacek? He was a 3rd year guy overcoming injury who looked excellent in both run and pass game. Why not trade Baker, if we need to make room? Anyone who says Baker should have been cut or traded should be disqualified from commenting here. He is the best all around TE on the roster and is also a relatively young guy. Keller will play a lot in the slot and Franks will be used for short yardage and goal line."

I don't understand why James Dearth gets a roster spot just to snap the ball. He hasn't had a reception since '01 and isn't a big ST contributor.
