File Under: Matt McChesney, Zarnell Fitch, Frankfurt, Galaxy, World Bowl XV

06/18 — The Jets will have two new championship-game players on their training camp roster. Zarnell Fitch and Matt McChesney are on the Frankfurt team that will be playing Hamburg on Saturday in Yello Strom World Bowl XV.

The Galaxy defeated the Cologne Centurions, 31-14, last week, while the Sea Devils edged the Rhein Fire, 17-13, lifting both to 7-3 and into NFL Europa's title game.

Frankfurt got contributions from Fitch, who started at RDT and had three solo tackles, including one for no gain (ending up with 23 tackles and five starts in 10 games), and McChesney, slowed by an ankle injury, saw limited action for the third straight game after starting the first seven for the Galaxy.

The other two Jets in NFLE also finished on team-high notes. Starting strongside LB Blake Costanzo had four tackles and two pass breakups in the Fire's loss to the Sea Devils, giving him a season line that was not far from wunderbar: 47 defensive tackles (in a three-way tie for the Rhein lead), two sacks, an interception, eight PDs and five special teams tackles.

And starting FS Jamie Thompson racked up a game-high 12 tackles in Amsterdam's two-touchdown comeback for a 21-20 win over Berlin. That made Thompson the top Admiral with 64 tackles for the year, although he finished with no INTs or PDs in those 10 games.

"Thank you for covering the NFLE foursome. What a great story it would be if Mc Chesney and Brandon Moore become the Jets starting Guards, both converting from DT and learning their offensive line skills in Europe"

"I am ready to see Fitch and Costanzo shine in the NFL. I agree with Ira: Fitch does have the best shot and I believe he want let the jets down. Fitch had a good season in NFL Europe- If you look at all his attributes on the field you'd expect to see great things from Fitch this season like i do."
