File Under: Erik Ainge, Dustin Keller, Kris Jenkins, St. Mary's Hospital

06/26 — The good work of the Jets' rookie class continues.

First-round TE Dustin Keller and fifth-round QB Erik Ainge spent time Wednesday with some of the New York area's most amazing kids when they visited patients at St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside, Queens.

The two — perhaps a dynamic pass-connection duo in the Green & White's future — had the chance to create memories that will last a lifetime for children at St. Mary's who are some of the most sick and seriously injured children in the region.

St. Mary’s is one of the nation’s premier providers of healthcare for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions. The facility provides intensive rehabilitative and specialized medical care to close to 4,000 children each day in the New York metropolitan region and beyond through its family-centered inpatient, home care and community programs. For more information on St. Mary’s, visit www.stmaryskids.org.

Jenkins Shows His Artsy Side

Big defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was named national spokesperson of the charity Life Pieces to Masterpieces at a reception and fundraiser in his honor on Tuesday at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C.

The event was sponsored by Perennial Sports & Entertainment and featured a spoken-word performance by the young men of Life Pieces and an auction of art and memorabilia.

All proceeds from the event benefited Life Pieces to Masterpieces, a non-profit organization committed to lead, guide and influence at-risk youth. Life Pieces to Masterpieces is an arts-based, comprehensive youth development organization. It serves boys and young men, living in the low-income and public housing east of the Anacostia River in Washington.

"1st off let's start out by not bashing Mangini. I'm sure the COACH has a plan when it comes to chosing a QB fella and who ever he make the starter AS a J-E-T-S fan you have to ride with whoever it is......SUPPORT HIM NOT BRING HIM DOWN ! LET'S GO JET' S "

"God Bless those kids - I am happy that these guys are volunteering for a great cause. As for the talk of QBs, I saw Ainge perform in one of those Senior games and he looked tight in the pocket. He completed 62.6 % of his passes Senior year with over 3500 yards passing. He did suffer some injuries during his career but at least he is young insurance. Let us see what any QB can do with an O-line"

"It totally amazes me how there is this much support for Kellen. He was beyond poor last season, he got hurt, he threw 10 interceptions and only 5 TD's, he got Coles hurt by underthrowing a wide open Flea flicker. Supporters for KC can blame a bad o-line and a limited playbook because of Chad. Lets not blame him underthrowing, overthrowing, no play-action, and showing no game sense whatsoever."
