06/13 — Our contest to have fans determine who will be the 22nd member of the 2008 New York Jets Flight Crew is coming to an end.

The deadline, you'll be happy to know and as we announced Thursday, is noon today. We wanted to give everyone an opportunity to study the three candidates for that 22nd spot, their still photos, their videos and their Q&A responses, and to give everyone a chance to cast a vote for his or her favorite candidate.

That time will soon come to an end, and shortly after noon we will announce the winner of the contest.

Many of you have pointed out a frustrating aspect of our voting mechanism. I'm not a techie, but I'm told that our program is rounding down all decimals, resulting in total voting percentages that this week have been bouncing from 100 to 99 to 98 percent.

I understand how annoying that can be for people who like to see 100 percent of the votes, especially in a close contest, as it has been between Danielle and Liana.

Whatever the percentages read, though, I can assure you that every vote submitted to our Fanzone Poll has been counted. And once the contest concludes, we'll post the total vote numbers for Liana, Danielle and Jennifer.

And speaking of numbers and not percentages, as of 8:30 a.m. today we have nearly 190,000 total votes. That's a remarkable number for such a poll, and we thank everyone who took the time to cast a ballot. The results of the poll are just around the corner.
