File Under: Marques Tuiasosopo, Chris Baker, Kellen Clemens, Stacy Tutt

06/15 — There's nothing like the two-minute work for highlight plays during minicamp.

The play that caught my attention came from the second offense and defense. Kellen Clemens dropped back and tried, under pressure from DE Bobby Hamilton, to thread the ball over the middle to FB Stacy Tutt. CB Drew Coleman made a great play on the ball — except that instead of the interception, Coleman batted the ball in the air.

Tutt came down with a circus catch to keep the chains moving.

"I'm still learning everything," said Tutt, who loved making those kinds of completions when he was on the other end as Richmond's QB. "I'm trying to understand everything, the different concepts, why people need to be in different spots on each play.

"That particular play wasn't designed to be like that. I got lucky."

Tutt's skill came into play, too. It's why he's started to carve out an unlikely career as a former college QB who now plays FB.

Clemens' passes in recent practices had been wobbling, but today the second-year man's throws looked tighter and on target. He found TE Joe Kowalewski in the back of the end zone working against S Erik Coleman for a score in the two-minute drill.

Marques Tuiasosopo also continued to look sharp. He lasered a short TD pass into the hands of undrafted WR Jesse Pellot-Rosa, then turned away, pumped his first once and said, not loudly but loud enough, "Boom!"

Rookie Darrelle Revis was fielding Ben Graham drop punts early in practice. Revis tried to field Graham's first end-over-ender-from down-under with his hands over his head.and put the ball on the ground.

TE Chris Baker keep seeing the ball. He dropped one pass but came up with a nifty high snag on another Chad Pennington pass against Erik Coleman.

S Kerry Rhodes was excused again. S Eric Smith worked in his place

I'll be back with a summary of head coach Eric Mangini's remarks at his news conference that will begin momentarily.

"Great stuff Randy! I think Grahams punts will give alot of returners fits again this year. Baker has always been clutch, and I hope to see him get more chances to catch this year. How is Houston doing? "

"Greenblood, Coach Mangini had a meaty anecdote about an exceptional play that Houston executed Thursday. It's in the Friday Mangini transcript."

"As a former Richmond Spider I must say that Stacy Tutt was the number 1 reason Richmond got to the semi-finals of the Division I-AA tourney two years ago. He's a tremendous athlete and person. Also, if you remember last December's game against the Fins, Tutt threw a HUGE block on that long rush"
