02/11 — Aloha!
I cannot lie — I just had the best week of my entire life! I’m in a state of depression over the fact that I’m leaving Hawaii right now. Everyone was so amazing and I miss them already.
It’s really sad and we had like an hour-long cry-fest last night after the game. We all sat in a circle and everyone poured their hearts out. I told everyone that I was so scared before all this started because I really was intimidated. I didn’t have any background information coming into this week because this was a completely new thing for the Jets. I wasn’t really officially a cheerleader like the other girls and I had just received my pompoms a week before. But my first night there, all my nerves went away.
Ron is one of the head directors of e2K, the company that produced the week's Pro Bowl events here in Hawaii, and he's a tremendous inspirational speaker. He said I was the Most Valuable Player of the team this year. Since I was such a little baby coming into this and not knowing what to think, he said you could tell I was like a deer in headlights. But by Sunday, he said I fit in with everything else and it was like I had known everyone for years. His comments were very nice and it just made me cry a lot.
I got really close with Nicole from Buffalo throughout this trip. We hung out a lot and hit it off really well together. We actually both have spring break at the same time and we’re going to meet halfway and maybe spend a few days together. Also, my roommate Melanie and I got really, really close. We all have each other’s contact information and I’m sure we’ll be talking in the future.
There were a lot more Jets fans than I expected at the game yesterday. In fact, there were a lot of Jets fans I saw in Honolulu throughout the trip. You feel so good when you hear "J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets!" and you know some of these people have rooted you on at the Meadowlands.
We all cried out all the tears we had last night, so the scene was a little different this morning. Everyone brought team photos, calendars and autographed pictures and handed them out.
My parents had such a good time this week, too. They went to all our promos, they visited Pearl Harbor, they did some nature tours and they also stopped by the pool. They thought it was exciting to see us perform yesterday and thought it looked like we had been training together for months and months.
Everyone made me feel so welcome. For years they’ve had 25 girls at the Pro Bowl, but I had the opportunity to be the 26th girl by representing the Jets. They all said I was supposed to be here and that “26” was the way it was supposed to be. It was awesome. A couple of the girls said I should go into the Hall of Fame because I was the first one from the Jets. This was truly a humbling experience.
My message from my parents today was "Welcome back to reality. You’re going back to school, you’re cleaning your room, and no more VIP escorts." All that’s funny and true. But nothing can change the fact that I just had the time of my life.

"This is Randy, Damone. Yeah, I had fun at the Super Bowl. Linda was the one at the Pro Bowl. But I'm guessing you already know that."

Tue, February 12, 2008 - 12:24pm EDT"Eric, Thanks for the link to the FA lists. Frank you don't jump at the 1st player to get cut. Many more to come for sure. Samuel would look good in a Jets uniform but they must get their o-line fixed 1st before anything. Then get your pass rusher in the draft. If Samuel is too much sign R.Gay. Lets not forget about Rhodes. Get him signed to a long term deal before you make a run at Samuel.GO JETS"
Frank Said:
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 3:10pm EDT"Ira nice try Wahle whether one of the first cuts or not which was a salary cap purge by the way he was one of the best guards in the NFC over the last 3 years and since he is not a glamor name like Faneca he won't cost as much. There are too many holes to fill and he would be a great addition. Randall Gay? He is not a difference maker and certainly not a significant upgrade over what we have now."

Tue, February 12, 2008 - 11:09pm EDT"The highlight of my pro bowl was meeting Jets flight crew member Linda. She took time for priceless picture!"
Ira Said:
Wed, February 13, 2008 - 7:27am EDT"Frank didn't say Wahle wouldn't be an upgrade and wouldn't mind if the Jets signed him but there will be others and they have to wait and see who they want to go after. R.Gay is a good CB and would upgrade the spot opposite Revis. A pass rusher is more important than another CB. Looks like that position will have to come via the draft."
Major Said:
Wed, February 13, 2008 - 8:33am EDT"get Wahle or faneca fast, don't sit on FA and wait for bargains. we did that in the past and lost out on quality FA's. Open up the purse and spend some money to fix CB and OL and then get the pass rusher with the #6 pick. We are not the Patriots, guys won't take pay cuts to be a Jet so spend the money."
Frank Said:
Wed, February 13, 2008 - 10:18am EDT"Ira, Samuel with his coverage skills and Revis on the other corner will free up more people to blitz and help the pass rush especially Rhodes who you are so fond of and so am I. We need difference makers at the skill positions enough of the plug and play personel they normally sign. It may not be realistic but Tangini should explore Jared Allen he wants out of KC and wants a long term contract."
Michael Said:

"For Michael and all others who'd like to see those free agency lists on cbssportsline.com, go to Eric Allen's story headlined "A Game of Tag for Potential Defensive UFAs," then proceed to the end of the story and click on the link you want, either AFC or NFC."
Ira Said:
Thu, February 14, 2008 - 7:04am EDT"So after Goodell met with Specter it sure sounded like Goodell was doing some double talking and admitted that the Pats have been taping signals since Belichick took over the pats in 2000. No wonder he destroyed the tapes. This is bad for the game and the Pats should be under a big investigation. If found that these tapes were helpful i would come down on them real hard."
Frank Said:
Thu, February 14, 2008 - 12:13pm EDT"Ira, I'll take it a step further. Congress needs to step in and in my opinion I beleive Goodell is complicit in a coverup and a criminal investigation needs to be done. It's stunning that Goodell has not talked to Walsh when he is the guy that was doing the taping. This is exactly why the NFL should lose it's anti-trust exemption and be subject to all the rules and laws everyone else is."
