File Under: Pro Bowl, Brian Kenny, 1050 ESPN New York, Honolulu Oahu

02/08 — Aloha!

Live radio is something I’ve never done before — until this morning. Brian Kenny, who co-hosts a daily show on 1050 ESPN New York, and I chatted for a short two- or three-minute segment.

I was kind of nervous, but a couple members of the Jets organization prepped me for the Q&A. It went pretty well and you guys can listen here if you’ve got the time. They actually asked me about some fairytale trade proposal and I just kind of laughed it off with a non-committal answer.

The hotel room Melanie and I share in Honolulu is pretty standard, equipped with two beds and a television. At the moment, it’s a little bit messy because we have to do a lot of changing and reapplying makeup. It’s good, though. Right now I’m on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It’s nice to sit out here when you have a break and can take it all in.

Melanie, who's a Seattle Sea Gal, and I didn’t get to see each other much yesterday because she is in a different group than me. During the day, our schedules take us our different ways. But she’s awesome and we have a really great time together. We’re like perfect roommates, so there aren’t any bad roommate stories.

My group doesn’t have anything until 12 noon today, so we’re probably going to try to go on the beach a little bit, go in the water and hang out. It’s sunny right now. It rains every single day here, but in the area where we’re at, it kind of just drizzles a little bit. But I know on the other side of the island of Oahu there are flash floods and torrential downpours.

After a few hectic days, our Friday is pretty light because we have an early night. We’re done at 8 p.m., but I don’t have any specific plans for the evening. We’re taking everything minute by minute and making decisions on the spot with little planning. Schedules change.

Signing off until tomorrow.

(Editor's note: On Saturday, Linda will tell us more about the sights and sounds she's experiencing around Honolulu. Then on Sunday, she'll check in with us regarding how her Saturday night on the islands went and what she's doing to prepare for her performance at Sunday night's Pro Bowl. And Monday, Linda will wrap up her experience at the game and Pro Bowl experience.)
