12/30 — Neither offense can do anything. The Chiefs get to the Jets 37 at the top of the final frame, only to fall back to the 49 when David Harris blitzes and takes down Brodie Croyle for the Green & White's second sack of the game.
Then the Jets get the next Dustin Colquitt punt and Leon Washington immediately bursts free for a 22-yard run, but three more Leon runs fail to reach the stick and Ben Graham is on again to punt.
On this time, Wallace Wright is there to take Eddie Drummond down after a 2-yard return, so the Jets continue to cling to the 10-3 lead — and to perhaps the sixth pick of the first round of the April draft, although that remains to be finalized — with less than seven minutes left.
David Barrett yields a Croyle 13-yard first-down completion to rookie WR Dwayne Bowe. Then TE Tony Gonzalez grabs a crossing pattern against S Eric Smith for another first. The Chiefs are back within 5 yards of midfield again.
Smith then blitzes from the blind side, but Croyle rolls out of the pocket and unloads out of bounds just in time. Now it's third-and-7 at their 48. But the Chiefs pick up the blitz to allow Croyle to hit Samie Parker against David Barrett, and now the Chiefs are 35 yards away from a potential tie ballgame.
The Jets blitz again, and Harris puts a hit on Croyle — but not before he lifts a wobbly high ball for Jeff Webb, who has beaten Hank Poteat to the right corner of the East end zone. The ball nestles in Webb's gloved hands and John Carney boots the extra point, so the Jets have 2:59 left to try to prevent this dreary day from extending into an overtime session.
Chiefs 10, Jets 10
Washington takes a shovel from Clemens 11 yards for a first down. Then Jerricho Cotchery appears to gather in a low pass for another first. The ruling on the field is incomplete, but coach Eric Mangini, perhaps flush from his successful challenge in the previous quarter, drops his red challenge flag on the sideline again with 2:16 left.
And again referee Larry Nemmers, upon further review, sides with the Jets, reversing the incompletion call into an 11-yard completion. It's first-and-10 at the Jets 47 at the two-minute warning.
It's all for naught. No gain for Washington, Clemens incomplete, Clemens 3 yards on a scramble, and it's time for another Graham punt, with 1:26 left. And Graham lifts another good punt that, along with strong coverage, drops Drummond at the KC 15. The visitors have 1:15 left to end this thing before it gets to OT.
Croyle has definitely found his rhythm after a rocky first half. He hits Gonzalez for 7 yards on a third-and-3 and the Chiefs call their second timeout with 41 seconds left. Then an incompletion to Gonzo, then a completion to the TE. At first Nemmers announces the Chiefs called their last timeout. Then he comes back on his mike to say that due to "a correction across the field," the timeout was called first by the Jets, leaving the Chiefs with one TO and 29 seconds left.
But Kerry Rhodes, quiet a lot of the day, makes all of the maneuvering moot for now with a blitz sack, forcing a punt. Now the Jets call their final timeout with 23 seconds left in regulation, in the event something goes wrong for KC with this punt.
But Colquitt gets off the punt, Washington lets it bounce, Clemens burns the last 10 seconds with a kneel and ladies and gentlemen, we're headed for overtime.

Does anyone know what happened to Elam? Did Coles show up for the game? I didn't see him on the sideline. I am still happy with Clemens play, 3 wins 4 losses is better then the 1 win 8 losses that Penny gave us! His stats are meaningless!"

We would like to know what kind it is and how many pieces does he go thru a game? I hope the Jets don't waste a pick on Mcfadden. Leon is the man and Jones is a solid Vet. Go Jets!!"
