File Under: devito, Jerricho Cotchery, Laveranues Coles, Mike Nugent, Benjamin Watson, Stephen Neal, James Sanders

12/16 — The inactive news for this game focuses on the Patriots, who are listing three starters as inactive: TE Benjamin Watson, RG Stephen Neal and FS James Sanders. All three were listed as limited at practice and questionable for the game on the Patriots' Friday injury report.

The other Patriots IAs: WR Chad Jackson, S Rashad Baker, G Billy Yates and WR Troy Brown. Matt Gutierrez is the third quarterback.

The Jets' list is less eye-opening. Not surprising, Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery are both active for this game after putting up decent performances despite their injuries last week against Cleveland.

Also, DE Mike DeVito, deactivated the previous two games, is active today. DeVito started out in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, but grew up in Nauset, Mass., on Cape Cod. He'll have a good cheering section of family and friends in the stands.

This week's Green & White inactives: WR Chris Davis, O-linemen Jacob Bender and Adrian Jones, TE Jason Pociask, LB Marques Murrell, DL Kareem Brown and DE Eric Hicks. Marques Tuiasosopo is the third QB.

The Jets are in their white jerseys and white pants. This has been an inconsistent fashion statement under head coach Eric Mangini. Last year in all white, the Jets were 4-0. This season they're 0-4. Maybe it's not the uniforms.

There is lots of snow around the edges of the Gillette Stadium field and in the stands, but the tarps have been removed from the field and it looks in fine shape. The precipitation has changed, as predicted, to rain and perhaps some freezing rain.

Wind is expected to gust over 40 mph, and every once in a while one of those gusts sways the goalposts and flutters the orange strips on the tops of the upgrights. But so far in pregame warmups, the Jets' Mike Nugent and the Pats' Stephen Gostkowski are dealing with the wind all right, and Nugent just drove a kickoff 5 yards deep into the closed-end end zone.
