11/18 — The Jets win the toss and Leon Washington finally gets a kickoff in his hands, although he can only take 12 yards to the 31. And Kellen Clemens can't get a first down. Ben Graham gets off a nice punt, Allen Rossum is penned in and the Steelersf will get their first OT try beginning at their 18.
And with Dewayne Robertson getting another sack — he's got 2.5 on the day — it appears the visitors are playing for the punt. Daniel Sepulveda does punt, and Washington has his best moment of the game, taking the short kick on the run to the Steelers 26. The Jets are already in field goal range.
Thomas Jones gains 2, then 3 more off the right side, then 1 to the 20. Mike Nugent is about to be called on for the second game-winning FG try of his career.
Nugent is kicking from the middle of the field from 38 yards out. The snap is good, Nugent seems not to get all of it, but he gets enough. The kick is good. "Nugent wins it!" screams Jets radio voice Bob Wischusen on the other side of the glass next to me. "What an effort!" The Jets celebrate at midfield. With 5:03 gone in overtime, the Jets have upset the Steelers.
Jets 19, Steelers 16
This has been a long time coming, but as Bob Murphy used to say at the ends of Mets victories, I'll be back with the happy recap in just a minute. Well, more like an hour or so.

What a result, a lot of pride regained today and no mistake. All I could think of was your prediction that we'd take the Stillers and now the job is done! Some much needed confidence now for the big match on Thursday. GO J!E!T!S! "

For all of you ticket holders that are only going to go when the team is winning - do us a favor and give up your tickets. You can always buy tickets from Stub Hub when the team is winning. GO JETS"

Sun, November 18, 2007 - 9:31pm EDT" How sweet it is! Thanks everybody i know i am overly optimistic but i just had a feeling about today. Everbody came up big today. Jones is the 1st RB to go over 100 yds in 34 games vs the Steelers. The D played lots of 4 man fronts and that combined with an aggressive defensive game plan is what won the game for the Jets.Holding the Steelers to FG's was huge. GO JETS!!!!"

Sun, November 18, 2007 - 10:46pm EDT"I havent been Impressed by the steelers all year. I had a good Feeling we could win this game if the defensive scheme changed. And the D was Excellent . This is what they needed Trust the Db's and send blitzes thats what makes a 3-4. That being said Our Off should have dominated we should have had 30 pts. Need to be more effective in the RZ and goal to go sit. "
Xavion Said:
Sun, November 18, 2007 - 10:51pm EDT"Im also a little upset that they kicked away from Leon all game. Also upset Leon didnt get the TD on the punt that would have been a great play to end on. Smith could have made a great block to spring him. I think Brad Smith is a great weapon but shouldnt be as high on the depth chart at WR. But Leon is my season MVP. Hes always a big play and savior... Go Leon Washington"
Jet King Said:

Mon, November 19, 2007 - 7:30am EDT"Good to se E.smith is out of the dog house. He played very well and was a sure tackler. Well now with 3 games in the books for Clemens he already has grown. All 3 games he has started he had the ball with a chance to tie and win games. He finally got over the hump. I thought Montgomery did an excellent job and should start. Baker is Clemens go to guy. Wait till next year."

Not bad when they shut down Big Ben, Fast Willie and the rest of that offense either. Great game call by all the coaches!!!! I can actually buy the Monday papers for the 1st time in a month.... "
