File Under: Matt Chatham, Jonathan Vilma, active roster, David Clowney
10/27 — After placing Jonathan Vilma on IR earlier in the day, the Jets at 4 p.m. today announced another linebacker transaction: Matt Chatham will move from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list to the active roster.
Chatham returned to practice on Oct. 17 and so has finished his second week of full practice. The Jets have made no announcement about whether Chatham would be active or inactive for Sunday's game against Buffalo, but the roster move means Chatham is eligible to return to action immediately.
Because the Jets also waived WR David Clowney early in the week (and then signed him to their practice squad), their active roster is at 52 players. They will not fill the 53rd spot before the opening kickoff vs. the Bills.

Like I have stated in recent posts watch the difference today when Harris mans the middle. This guy was a beast at Ann Arbor and will make plays near the line of srimmage not 5 yards past it."

I have gotten to know Ray a little (lives in my town) and my wife taught his daughters. This guy does a great job on SNY covering the Jets. He tells it like a fan.... Randy how was Lucas as a player while you covered him? He seems like a reporter's kind of guy.....Go jets!!"

"Drew, Ray Lucas the player was very similar to Ray the broadcaster as portrayed in the Newsday story: great quote, intense but able to smile, and always bleeding Jet green."
