File Under: Jets at Raiders Live Game Chat!

10/25 — Life (on the field anyway) without Kris Jenkins begins today for the New York Jets in Oakland.

New York's AFC representative suffered a huge blow when it was announced this week that Big Jenks, a 6,4", 360-pound run stuffing NT who can get to the quarterback, suffered an ACL tear in last Sunday's loss to the Bills and will require season-ending surgery.

Hopefully Jenkins, a four-time Pro Bowl player, will be better than ever in 2010.  But today, the Jets embark on a 10-game journey without Jenks.

I'll see you at kickoff.  (Reminder: The Jets will don their white Titans jerseys this afternoon).

NYJ Inactives: E. Ainge (3rd QB), K. O'Connell, B. Smith, L. Sheppard, J. Ihedigbo, M. Slauson, J. Cotchery and M. Murrell.

"EA, great article, full of passion and I can tell that you truly feel the loss of Big Jenks as we all do, however, in the last sentence, i think you meant to say 10-game journey w/o Jenkins. He will be with us in our thoughts and prayers and his spirit will be felt on the field. GO JETS, if nothing else, Lets do it for Jenks!!!!!!!"

"Terrible to see Leon hurt but ya gotta love the way SG has stepped up. Looks like one of Rex's big lessons as a rookie coach will be learning how to use good players BEFORE the starters get hurt. CONGRATS WW on finally getting into a game as a WR. As for the O, I know OAK's weak against the run but this is more what I expected, lots of runs, smart passes, no idiotic Schotty high-risk play calls."

"Really like Schotty's game plan. 10 passes in the first half is awesome. Let's keep this going! Defense is playing great. This is for the loss to Cable last year. Run it up Rex, 59-0! Go Jets "
