09/27 — We just received inactives up here at press level as the rain continues to fall on the Meadowlands:

NYJ Inactives: QB K. O'Connell, E. Ainge (3rd QB), CB L. Sheppard, CB D. Strickland, LB J. Westerman, OL M. Slauson, DL R. Pitoitua and WR D. Clowney.
Titans Inactives: QB V. Young (3rd QB), P C. Hentrich, LB S. Keglar, T/G T. Kropog, TE B. Scaife, WR L. Hawkins, DT Sen'Derrick Marks and DE D. Ball.

With Sheppard out, Dwight Lowery will get the start opposite Darrelle Revis. And the Titans have a pair of lineup changes as LB Leroy Harris will take Eugene Amano's spot in the lineup and veteran Alge Crumpler is set to fill in for Bo Scaife.

Just a reminder, the NFL is commemorating 50 years of the AFL with 16 AFL Legacy Games during the '09 season and New York's AFC representative will mark the occasion by wearing original NY Titans uniforms in three contests vs. original AFL franchises. The Jets will be in their Titans' navy jerseys today, but they'll also debut their white Titans' jerseys at Oakland on Oct. 25 and they'll come right back in white November 1 vs. Miami.

Seeing Sanchez make some rookie mistakes after a 14pt lead was rough to see but hey I would rather see them now and work on his mistakes then see them in a crutial week 10 or 11 game. "Sanchez looked more like a rook today, but still made some very good throws. Game ball in my opinion goes to our special teams squad, awesome play out there today guys. Great gadget calls early, then some bad play calling followed. Shot ourselves in the foot a few times, and it wasn't as good a win as it started out to be, but we got the W and that's what's important. Time for the Big Easy!!"

"First off I want to say I'm stoked we are where we are right now! I hate to say it week in and out, but Sanchez must play better. He must make plays, or defenses are going to do what they did today. He looked horrible at times because they put the game on his shoulders. We have to have better play at QB in order to run the ball. I think the Jets can get better with the upcoming schedule. Still don't like Schotty's ill-timed trick plays or the INT'd pass to Stuck when we had to kill clock and get an FG. But our D and ST are AWESOME!"

"Row, no MS wasn't great today, but I'm afraid you have it backwards. If you want to see better QB play, we need to be able to run the ball. Expecting a rookie QB to make it easier for us to run is asking a bit much. There is no excuse for this veteran offensive line not to be able to run block better than they have."

I'm with Erik H to some extent about TJ and certainly about the running game as a whole. Don't forget, Row, MS kept us in and won all three games when our "P&G" running game largely failed to show up!"

"A win is a win as they say. Now we need to improve on certain areas. #1 running game. Unless it's a big play, it seems to be non-existent. I agree that M-S should not have to shoulder the load of the O. Glad he stuck with it to the end. Cotch is back. On D we once again were great. Today was the most rattled I've seen him but he's a ROOKIE. He still threw 2 TD's and ran for another. I agree with my fellow fans that it just hasn't looked that great lately. Schedule lightens up a bit after N.O., so hopefully we get it going. Great game by Harris and the rest of the D even though we bent a few times."

I get relying on TJ, Leon, Cotch, and Stuck in the first few games to solidify them as starters, but pretty soon we're going to have to start mixing our guys up if we're going to avg. more than 21 points a game. "Ten is 2nd in AFC vs run - 60.7 yds p/g. Jets got 83 net yds rushing; be realistic when criticizing! The Titans' D dictated that Jets pass a bit more than 1st 2 games. The weather made it tough for a rook from SoCal to throw the ball; but he managed & we won. From the way some of these malcontents gripe you would think we're 0-3! Sunday in a dome should be another kind of test. Our D must step up."

"I hear you on TEN strong vs. the run, Ed in Tucson, but our running hasn't looked that good in ANY game, nothing like what Rex talked about all summer. And it's hard to believe Greene couldn't get outside faster on some of these plays than TJ, who often looks really soft the minute anyone touches him, not at all like last year's TJ. Sure Favre helped but MS throws way better than he has for years!"

Yesterday I kept wishing that we would unleash the 3 headed beast that we were promised coming out of training camp. Though I'm much happier with O play calling this year than last, I'd like to see more misdirection & more extensive use of the Seminole with B Smith getting more touches with option sweeps. Go Jets!"

"Well I will tell you this if MS does what he did in the first half in the next game he will be ina wheel chair. That was a stupid move to use his head the way he did. he has tallent but he needs to use his brains too and not do something so stupid ever again. I think the D was superb in a lot of ways. MS made a few rookie mistakes but he almost cost us on another hand."
