08/11 — The Jets’ Family Night Practice at Hofstra University on Long Island on Wednesday evening will be starting 15 minutes earlier than originally scheduled.
The practice will begin at Hofstra’s James M. Shuart Stadium at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The gates will open at 4 p.m.
"I’m looking forward to going down to Hofstra and being around a lot of our fan base," Jets head coach Rex Ryan said today. "It’s right before a game, we’re going to be in shorts, there’s not going to be a whole lot of contact, but it will still be a practice. We’re going to take a lot of time to sign autographs and really get out there with our fan base."
Generation Jets Fest and the Jets Shop tent will both be open from 4-7 p.m. at the stadium.
Randy Lange Said:
"Alan, Kellen Clemens and Mark Sanchez both threw the ball well this morning. My morning practice Radar went live a short while ago."

Tue, August 11, 2009 - 12:39pm ET"Last year I was told the Green and White game will always be played at hofstra. I think that a "family" practice instead of the scrimage is a waiste of time."

Wed, August 12, 2009 - 8:45am ET"I used to look forward to bringing my family to Hofstra for training camp, it was part of summer. Now to throw a bone to the fans that supported the franchise all of these years is an insult. It used to be a scrimmage, now it is a light practice with no contact."

Wed, August 12, 2009 - 10:08am ET"we were supposed to get the green and white scrimmage at hofstra weren't we? now it is just a glorified autograph signing..an "appearance". boy how long island has fallen of the map with this organization. it's a shame that the hometown is so easily forgotten."
Jim C Said:
Wed, August 12, 2009 - 10:52am ET"I hate what the Jets have done to/for us Long Island residents. I have cancelled my tickets. If you need to ask "Why?" you just don't get it"
Thaddeus Said:
Wed, August 12, 2009 - 12:05pm ET"You guys just made my decision for me. I dont think I will go since it is just a practice in shorts and the weather is a negative..."
Jimmy Said:
Wed, August 12, 2009 - 1:10pm ET"who cares about the weather? Ira is right, this is a insult.. I can see more hitting at a jr jigh game. Why even bother coming out to L.I? this is a disgrace.. tell the jets to stay in N.J! "
Mark C Said:
Wed, August 12, 2009 - 1:43pm ET" I've been going to Jets camps since 1969. Now they've been stolen from us. Moving their operations to Florham Park was insult enough. But Cortland?? Woody doesn't seem to realize that Long Island is where the Jets fan base is. This is one fan they've lost. GO DOLPHINS!! C-H-A-D chad chad chad"
