File Under: Nick Mangold, Woody Johnson, Chris Pierce, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Kris Jenkins, Jets Shop Madison Avenue, grand opening, ribbon cutting
06/02 — Jets fans will have the opportunity on Wednesday to attend the grand opening of the first Jets Shop store, in New York City, while enjoying a meet-and-greet with some of their favorite current Jets players.
“Fans should be excited about the Jets Shop store,” said Chris Pierce, the Jets’ senior director of merchandising, “because it’s finally a place that they can go every day of the year and touch the team. We have something for everyone – men’s, women’s, kids' and memorabilia collectors.
“It’s the e-commerce site come to life – come to Madison Avenue. We’re looking at it like our flagship store, so that everything you can find on the Website will be at the Jets Shop at Madison Avenue.”
You can even get a salesperson to help you order a customizable Jets jersey in-store that will be printed and shipped directly to your home.
The ribbon-cutting event is set for 6 p.m. and will be emceed by Bob Wischusen, the radio voice of the Jets, and will feature Jets owner Woody Johnson, Pro Bowl center Nick Mangold, Pro Bowl nose tackle Kris Jenkins, and starting left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson.
Those attending the Wednesday ceremony will also get a sneak peek at two cheerleaders from the new and improved, 2009 Jets Flight Crew.
Jets Shop is located at 437 Madison Ave. at 50th Street (the entrance is on 50th Street between Madison and Park). Fans should arrive at the store early to check out the newest Jets gear before the players arrive about 5:30 p.m.
“It’s a place that fans can gather, get their latest and greatest Jets gear, and also be with like-minded people,” said Pierce.
“It’s not like shopping at a sporting goods store that has something from every team. This is a place they can go that’s all green all the time. They can sit there and talk about the draft, talk about the upcoming game, talk about last week’s game, talk about what’s going on at minicamp, or talk about events that the Jets are doing in the community”

He is a potential liability with his off the field issues, but last year he started to turn the corner with his number of catches/yards - and he's 6'6". He's not a true #1 receiver - but no one the Jets have is. So better to stock the team with WR depth with a young QB and see what shakes out "

LC in 137 games has 631 rec,8095 yds,44 TD's. Moss in 1 less year ash 111 games,430 rec,6541 yds,and 43 TD's. Moss just reworked his deal for less money then the Jets guaranteed for LC in 08 and 09.
