06/01 — And now the Jets' Pro Bowl backfield is whole again.

The Green & White have another OTA practice this morning, and on the field in the white jersey with the green number 29 is Leon Washington.

Washington, who stayed away from practices for three weeks, reportedly over his contract situation, is back with the team. The players are loosening up and doing prepractice drills on the turf field outside the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center, and when they finish and head to the grass field for the full OTA, Washington will be participating.

Since Thomas Jones, No. 20, returned to the voluntary practices last week, that means that the Jets' one-two punch is back and that head coach Rex Ryan's and coordinator Brian Schottenheimer's "ground and pound" offensive approach is ready to roll.

This is the last week of voluntary OTAs, with practices scheduled for today, Wednesday and Thursday. Next week, June 9-11, is the mandatory full-squad minicamp at the AHJTC, the crown jewel of Jets Week activities, with all five practices open to the public. We'll have more details on those practices the rest of this week.

Clemens Baby Stats

Final numbers — or should we say starting stats — on the new Clemens in the family. Grant Michael Clemens was born Friday, May 29, to Kellen and Nicole. He checked in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces and 22 inches in length. Sounds like he might be some quarterback's blindside protector some day. Congratulations and best wishes to all the Clemenses.

Welcome Back, Carlson

We want to extend a warm welcome back to another former member of our family. Tim Carlson, the Internet and publications intern who served so ably last season, has returned from the Czech Republic and points east to help us out during Jets Week activities, two weeks of events for fans and area businesses centered around those five practices I mentioned above.

Tim will be reporting on many of the events, such as Tuesday's Jets Charity Golf Classic at Trump National GC in Bedminster, N.J., the Jets Shop grand opening in Manhattan on Wednesday, the Flight Crew unveiling June 8.

Good to have you back, Tim, along with Leon and TJ.

"i agree, I think Kellen is going to do great, only problem is hes in the last year of his contract, so if he does amazing with us, we don't know what hell do, if he has a good year he might test FA because we have Sanchez, it really is a bad position if Kellen Suceeds But kellen is 4 years older, well see but who knows. Not the first time the jets made a bad pick, but for Mike T it might be his 1"

"Guys, let's not argue about semantics. But what you really want to avoid is calling the Czech or Slovak Republic "eastern Europe" =-)"

"Any word how Sanchez is doing ? Wayne Chrebet would make a good recievers coach ,dont you think ? I will never forget him and Vinny drawing up plays in the dirt against Miami, fourth quarter. "
