05/01 — Due to inclement weather, the Jets will hold their first rookie minicamp practice inside this morning. The rains are supposed to fall hard from the heavens at around 10 a.m. and into the afternoon, so it's a good bet that both of Friday's practices will be inside the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center fieldhouse.

It's safe to say I haven't spent much time in our fieldhouse (other than working out after hours in the spacious facility). Jets head coach Eric Mangini used the Jets' indoor monster a couple of times late last season, but he usually had the boys brave the elements in his three-year stint as head coach. But Rex Ryan is steering the Green & White ship in a different direction and a washout isn't going to help anyone get anything done.

I just spoke with Jared Winley, one of the most talented young PR staffers in the NFL, and he says the Jets are going to have a ton of people in attendance today. Something tells me that there will be a lot of cameras focused on the new QB donning No. 6 — Mark Sanchez.

We're still waiting to get the word to put up the list of 17 undrafted free agents plus 16 tryout players who are participating in this camp, but the paperwork and league approval must be in order first. However, we can tell you that 12 Jets roster players will be joining those 33 players plus the team's three draft choices (Sanchez, RB Shonn Green and G Matt Slauson) for the weekend.

Those players are P Eric Wilbur, WRs Paul Raymond, Marcus Henry and Huey Whittaker, CB Marquice Cole, RB Jehuu Caulcrick, LBs Brandon Renkart and Kenwin Cummings, O-linemen Stanley Daniels and Mike Kracalik, and D-linemen Brian Schaefering and Ropati Pitoitua.

Keep coming back throughout the day for all your latest camp updates and you can follow us on twitter.com as well.

Let's get it rolling.

"They talk about Sanchez's Accuracy. Wasn't CHAD PENNINGTON also know for his ACCURACY??? Not a good sign for SANCHEZ and the JETS if Sanchez MO according to Brian Schottenheimer is Sanchez's ACCURACY! Is SANCHEZ another CHAD PENNINGTON?? Typical JETS to trade away RATLIFF and pick up another CHAD with ACCURACY!"

"Hey Sam, you realize no Jet QB took us to more playoffs than Pennington? And his arm strength was adequate BEFORE his multiple surgeries. Sanchez will be fine and do wonders if he is set up well. Before you complain, understand Pennington did wonders for this franchise."

"Mark sanchez is different then Pennington, For one Mark Sanchez has ALOT more arm strength then chad pennington, Also Brett Ratliff threw 3 picks to the 2nd team defence, and your angry that we gave away him for Sanchez?"
