04/17 — What do Kerry Rhodes, Nick Mangold, Jay Feely, Darrelle Revis, Woody Johnson, Eric Allen and I have in common?
(Cue the Final Jeopardy music.)
All of us either are or soon will be tweeting like crazy.
Rhodes, Mangold and Feely have Twitter accounts, Revis and the Jets owner are in the process of setting up theirs, and EA and I began tweeting about this morning's minicamp practice at http://twitter.com/nyjets.
I can't say what Kerry, Nick, Darrelle or Mr. J are or will be tweeting about, but I'm getting into the rhythm of sending out headlines on things that are happening with the Jets right now, and pretty much all the things that we tweet about will then find their way in story or Radar form onto newyorkjets.com.
Shameless cross-promotion? Of course. But we now have the ability to inform Jets fans of breaking news and neat stuff immediately.
I just wanted to chirp a little about it.

Rex, Scott, Boldin, etc. etc. The Perception of the Jets will finally return to what it once was: Proud, Hard-working, Fun, Unpredictable Football Players. Get ready for '09 folks. It's gonna be a good one."
Ira Said:
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 7:50pm ET"I too agree that Boldin should be looked at by the Jets. I would think a player and a 3rd pick could possibly get him. he would be perfect for them. And thank you to the Jets and the NFL for changing the time of the Titans game. GO JETS!!!!"

Fri, April 17, 2009 - 8:52pm ET"just read the sporting news mock draft and they got the jets picking kenny britt with their first pick....i feel like this is one of the deeper drafts in recent history and iit figures the patriots got like 90 picks!!! Hey Randy any chance of the patriots leaving the afc east???"
juan cho Said:
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 9:11pm ET"a lot of people are talking about drafting tyson jackson from what i read hes not much of a pass rusher...if we go defense i would say pick maybin from penn st. he can play olb in a 3-4 and now we just move gholston to strictly de...i say we deal with jones one more year and next year 1st rd well go rb"
jet80 Said:
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 9:41pm ET"i hear the jets are interested in Boldin.I sure hope they go a different path, hes not worth the 1st and 3rd.Boldin is the same type of player Cotchery is,more skills but excells after he makes the catch in toughness and yards.this team needs another type of WR that you all know.a taller faster player that will burn them all down field.something the jets havent had in way too long"
Howard Said:
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 10:25pm ET"TJ signed a 4tr 20million dollar contract thats 5 million a yr he recieved 13.1 mil. in the 1st 2 yrs so far now its time for this yr to play for the team at 900 thou this yr next yr he gets 6 mil more and i know if the jets dont release him.as for boulden how many more names can be thrown out on the trade market and all i hear jet fans say is give up everything for him can we get smart some time "
carl Said:
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 10:27pm ET"To much for Boldin !! Finish defense !! Speed at linebacker is needed! We got burned last year!! Go Jets!!!"
Tom Spicer Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 7:31am ET"Row, Pay TJ nothing tell him to honor his contract which he has 2 years left on he was not crying when he signed it. He already got 13,100,000 for 2 years worth of football 1 of which he was garbage. Draft Moreno & get rid of him if he does not want to play for $20 mil for 4 years forget him are you kidding me. "
Alan Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 9:05am ET"After everyone kept on saying that Clemens had his chance, and Ratliff was going to outshine him, I know its been 2 days, but clemens got T-Rex to say he did outstanding, while ratliff threw three picks, just saying."
OriginalJetfan Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 10:44am ET"I will be royally teed off if jets go for a receiver in trade or draft, Stuckey as 4th receiver last year at 32 grabs for 11+yds a catch, and Clowney never got a chance to crack the lineup because of Cotchery and Coles. Give them and the QB's a look, then FA next year if they don't do it, lots of QB's n WR will be FA in 2010. Get DE, OT and see if you can grab Jennings the RB in 3rd round."
Mike Jet Vet Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 10:46am ET"Here's the way to go the Cards need a RB we need receiver trade straight up & get rid of the pain T-J is about to become Boldin for T-J kill 2 birds with 1 stone as they say .. Again to who ever loves T-J Last year he only 1 TD & a 20 million contract with 2 years left in case you didn't know or care give me a break .T-J earn your money 1st then try & blackmail us Beanie Wells at 17"
Mike Jet Vet Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 11:03am ET"Please no QB or Receiver in 1st round .Here's why 3 drafts picks on the team already Clemens Rhatty & Ainge.Next we drafted a 6-4 receiver in Marcus Henry use him he's been in the system add Clowney Stucky J-CO & Smith believe me were OK at the position.Next we can fill the TE spot with the second pick RB is the only way to go in this years draft then all we need the rest of the way is Depth"
MIKE Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 12:01pm ET"Randy have the Jets shown any interest in Knowshon Moreno or Beanie Wells? Have they been looking at any other D lineman besides Tyson Jackson who in my opinion will not be avalible at 17?"
Randy Lange Said:
"MIKE, I can't tell you whom the Jets have shown interest in because then everyone would know. But I know Mike Tannenbaum and his people are as prepared as always and that Rex Ryan has had high praise for the Jets' college scouting process. "
LWSquad Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 1:21pm ET"Jet80- How many rings do Moss, TO, 85 and Fitz have? How many rings does Hines Ward have? IMHO...Boldin is more than a WR."
Rod Beaton Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 1:30pm ET"What happened to Brett Favre? Did he retire again? Or was he released? He's not listed on the roster..for 2009-2010. I moved to California and everything falls apart! Yankees lose. Jets land Favre- release Pennington! Pennington got the Jets to playoffs at least! Its that 1st round..Favre might of helped. Now there both gone! And what, we need a 'WR'? Joe was right only '1' superbowl. "
MIKE Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 2:03pm ET"Boldin for Jones staight up is not gonna happen. Jones had a good year last under arguabully the best running OLine in the NFL, and is 31 this year. Boldin is a in the prime if his career and will demand alot more than a RB nearing the end of his career. You have to throw in a 2nd rounder as well to get Boldin. Please don't draft a QB this year. NO FREEMAN!!!! "
MIKE Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 4:33pm ET"Love to see TJ traded. He is so overated. Lets see how many yards he gets behind an average run blocking Oline. The Bears got rid of him for the same reason, had one good season and wanted more money. $900,000 for one year he just made 10 mil in 2 years with average numbers. Did the Jets ask for there money back with average yards and TD's. Suck it up TJ. Trade him draft Moreno."
LWSquad Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 4:50pm ET"I take back my initial statement, "And for what they are asking? MAKE THE DEAL!" After hearing certain "reports" I would not give up the asking price. I'm hoping it's smoke and mirrors and we can make this happen. Moss went for a 4th, I believe a second and a little ammunition would be the best offer that ARZ is gonna see, which we can provide. If I'm wrong, that team can join CHI as Paid TOO Much"
Ira Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 6:04pm ET"Reports are that the Browns will draft Sanchez or Crabtree.Wonder what the Browns will do with Quinn if they were to draft Sanchez? Randy, Did Wibur or Hodges show anything these past few days? Next week will be real interesting and i think there will be a few trades throughout the league this week. Will Trader Mike strike again?"
Randy Lange Said:
"Ira, the times I watched them, Reggie Hodges and Eric Wilbur both had some very nice punts in the 4.8-4.9-second hangtime range. But they didn't hang every punt high, so we'll have to see at the mandatory full-squad camp in June and perhaps in training camp."
Charlie D Said:
Sat, April 18, 2009 - 9:52pm ET"Randy, I think we are getting stronger every year. The Jets will make the right moves on draft day it is exciting to wait and see. The Jets will not tip their hand. "

Sun, April 19, 2009 - 2:20pm ET"Row your way off base with this TJ nonsense, I'm with Spicer & Jetvet on this one bigtime, honor your contract or retire. Hey Ira how do you feel about the schedule, there was no mention of your outrage in this blog."
Joe Said:
Sun, April 19, 2009 - 2:29pm ET"What's the point of telling us that Rhodes, Mangold, Feely, and Revis have/ will have Twitter accounts without giving the links to follow them, exactly?"
Randy Lange Said:
"Joe, we'll get you those links when we have them. I don't know what they are at the moment but I know those players are tweeting. The point is that so am I. It's all about me, Joe."
Jesse Said:
Sun, April 19, 2009 - 4:30pm ET"All this talk about needing a WR in the draft, why dont the Jets just trade for Boldin an established WR that could help either Clemens or Ratliff this year as a go to guy."
Ira Said:
Sun, April 19, 2009 - 5:22pm ET"Mike Mc, I think the schedule is going to be very challenging and they really need to be atleast 3-2 after the 1st 5 games. But as always what looks like easy and difficult games now are always different come November.Good thing is after their Oakland trip they have 2 games sandwiched with a bye and then a trip to Foxboro and a home game vs the Panthers."
Mike Jet Vet Said:
Sun, April 19, 2009 - 7:26pm ET"I think we're all forgetting we need to address our punting situation.. Hoping we can find a good 1 in the later rounds.. Any 1 here ever check out that receiver from Cal Poly 6-6 230lbs Ramses Barden He's fast with great hands to go along with his size worth a long look if he sticks for the later rounds "

Mon, April 20, 2009 - 11:52am ET"Nice job by the Jets holding practices at Hofstra and their new facilty in NJ. Hofstra was great and hated to see them leave but nothing stays the same for ever. Looking forward to Cortland and love the chance to attend mini-camp. The Jets were very fair trying to take care of ALL their fan base. I actually might be able to attend more practices this year i hope. GO JETS!!!!"

Sabatino Said:
Sun, October 18, 2009 - 8:45pm ET"First you, the Jets get all our hopes up with a chance at the playoffs, Now I wonder if Sanchez is the guy. You really have to try hard to get 5 Interceptions. in 1 game"

He was the AFC's leading rusher, 14TD's, no one on the team came close. His carries tailed off at the end of the season. Someone get it done. Also, heard Mr. T contacted the Cards about Boldon. If you can sign Favre for a 1 year blunder at 12 mil, sign Boldin for 6 at 9mil! Go Jets"
