Minicamp Was Valuable to These 2 Tryouts

File Under: OTAs, Kenyon Coleman, Antwun Williams, Albany Conquest, Zach Catanese

In surfing the Web this afternoon, I came across stories on two of the tryout invitees to last weekend's Jets rookie minicamp.

The Albany Conquest are happy to have WR Antwun Williams back in the fold. Williams (6'2", 185) is the arenafootball2 team's top receiver with 28 catches and nine touchdowns. He had to take a game off to participate in the minicamp, and Albany suffered a 61-49 loss to Ten… More

Finishing Touches on the Summer Slate

File Under: preseason games, Jim Zorn, Cleveland Washington Giants Eagles

The schedule process is complete with the NFL announcing on Tuesday the final dates and kickoff times for virtually all of the 65 preseason games.

For Jets fans, there are no big surprises. They will get their summer slate started by rocking and rolling at Cleveland in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Aug. 7. Then come their two home preseason games, against Washington and new head coach Jim Zorn and again… More

Garner Ready to Give It the Old College Try

File Under: Mike Tannenbaum, Eric Mangini, Darren McFadden, Bill Callahan, Peter King, Nate Garner, Felix Jones

Special Attention at the Rookie Minicamp

File Under: Eric Mangini, David Harris, James Dearth, Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos, Bob Sutton, Bryan Cox, Vernon Gholston, Kevin O'Dea, Dustin Keller, Danny Woodhead

The air was a little brisk, in the upper 50s perhaps, for this morning's third practice of the Jets' weekend rookie minicamp, leading to this exchange between defensive coaches:

Bryan Cox: "Bob, you look cold."

Bob Sutton: "It's linemen's weather."

It was also special teams weather, at least for much of the 40 minutes of media availability. And while the Jets' 50 draft picks, undrafted free age… More

'Exciting Time' for Woodhead, Fellow Rooks

File Under: Eric Mangini, rookie minicamp, Vernon Gholston, Dustin Keller, Danny Woodhead

It's the most wonderful time of the year ... well, if you're a football coach, it's at least one of them.

Here's how poetically head coach Eric Mangini waxed at his afternoon news conference about the Jets rookie minicamp that opened with two practices today:

"All the hard work we put in as an organization into the draft, so many people working on it throughout the whole off-season — really thro… More
